The role will be a great to opportunity for an individual keen to establish their career working in-house or for a junior lawyer to continue to develop their skills. If successful in the role, there will also be an option to pursue an in-house training contract at Benefex (subject to business need). The successful candidate will be an integral part of the high-performing (and friendly) Benefex Legal team, and will work closely with key stakeholders across the business, including the award-winning Benefex General Counsel. The role will provide access to a dynamic and varied workload of commercial contracts, corporate work, data protection and intellectual property matters under the direct supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel.
This will include:
· Reviewing, marking up, and negotiating commercial contracts and NDAs.
· Assisting with legal transformation programmes.
· Advising on data protection and privacy queries.
· Advising on contractual interpretation questions.
· Assisting with contentious matters.
· Liaising with the business to gather information and understand commercial and legal issues.
Qualifications and experience
· Legal education (LLB or GDL; LPC / SQE desirable)
· Proactive and self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude
· Good written and oral communication skills
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
· Curiosity and a desire to learn, get “stuck in” and take ownership of the company’s, the team’s, and your own success.
