The Challenge
Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., a leading interactive entertainment company, seeks a Paralegal to join its EMEA Legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This entry level role involves a mix of administrative and transactional work and is a real opportunity for the successful candidate to start their career in the video games industry. The selected candidate will work from our offices in London, UK initially reporting into Vice President & Counsel, EMEA.
What You'll Take On
- Contract Management – Proof reading and comparing final and amended documents, obtaining signatures, and filing signed agreements in internal document management systems.
- Contract Negotiation – Drafting and, with supervision from a lawyer in the EMEA Legal team, negotiating and advising clients on standard agreements regularly used by the business, including non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing agreements, influencer agreements, and licensing agreements.
- Transaction Logs and Reporting – Preparing, reviewing, and ensuring all approvals are obtained in connection with all regular legal transaction logs and reports.
- Outside Counsel Billing – Ensuring that invoices are being uploaded or provided by outside legal counsel for accrual and approval on a monthly basis. Liaising with other colleagues in Legal and Finance to ensure that all outside counsel spend is being tracked in our systems and being approved and paid in a timely fashion. Assisting Legal Team members to generate legal spend reports where applicable.
- Legal Research and Knowledge Management – Assisting members of the EMEA Legal team in: (i) conducting legal research required on various areas of the law applicable to the business; (ii) keeping track of any changes to the same and updating relevant team members; and (iii) updating and maintaining internal precedents and templates.
- Administrative Matters – Assisting members of the EMEA Legal team with various administrative matters including travel arrangements, reservations, and expenses.
What You Bring
- Desire to experience negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements applicable to the development and exploitation of video games.
- Understanding of key contractual principles under English law, such as warranties, representations, indemnities, and remoteness of damages.
- Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Common sense, kindness, good humor, and a commitment to teamwork.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and thorough documentation skills.
- Knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, the videogame industry.
