Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience within Paediatrics?
Pulse is now seeking a band 6 Paediatric Mental Health Occupational Therapist to work within a paediatric service at an innovative NHS trust Birmingham. The post is full-time hours, and is available to start on the 31st of January, with an end date of 30/04/2022. To be considered for this role applying therapists must have previous experience of working within a paediatric setting. You will be working with a varied caseload of children who have complex needs.
Brief job description:
0-25 service providing secondary mental health support for 0-25 children/ YP and families. OT required to complete OT assessment, interventions and review. Experience with sensory approaches would be of benefit. Experience of working with CYP preferred. Team located at Finch rd, role includes remote working and driving.
Some duties within this post will include:
- Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life
- Fine motor assessments
- Managing own caseload efficiently
- Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals
Skills and experience needed:
- Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
- Current HCPC registration
- Previous experience working within a Paediatric service - Ideally NHS
- Encouraging attitude
- Ability to think outside the box
- Be compassionate and empathetic
- Good team work skills
