Job description
We are currently looking to recruit General Operatives/Packers to work with our client based in Cookstown, Belfast, BT80.
You will be part of the gap personnel team working on an ongoing basis.
The role of the General Operative/Packer
You will have a key part to play in the production of the finished pork product, by having specific responsibilities for either kill/cut, butchering, packaging, labelling, checking.
· Checking the product against specifications (size, weight, colour, packaging etc).
· Adjusting machine settings to handle changes from one size/type of product to another – Depending on role.
· Identifying errors/faults and reporting these to the Team Leader
· Packing goods ready for shipment in crates, boxes or dolays (as required), against quantity and layout specifications.
· Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness procedures are followed at all times.
· Competently performing any other tasks for which training has been completed and signed off.
· Being an ambassador for the business at all times, behaving in a professional and courteous manner with both internal / external customers.
· Strict adherence to Health & Safety rules and procedures. It is every employee’s duty, no matter what their position within the Company is, to assist the employer with its responsibilities towards Health and Safety.

· Attending and taking active part in various training activities or helping with training of other colleagues.
Skills required:
· Attention to detail/good observational skills to spot faults/contamination.
· Ability to work quickly to meet production targets.
· Good team working skills and the ability to work on own.
· Ability to follow strict health & safety guidelines and quality procedures.
· Patience to carry out repetitive tasks.
· Self-motivation.
· Ability to be flexible and adapt to change as required.
Available shifts:
· Monday to Friday
· 0630-1500 / 0700-1530 / 1600-0000 – Depending on Department
Salary:
· £10.73 per hour
· Overtime: £16.10
