Job description
- Packs products in an accurate and timely manner.
- Follows company standardized pack specifications along with any customer specified deviations as communicated through special instructions via work orders/cut tickets.
- Accurately reads and comprehends all customer specific special instructions.
- Performs Quality Control checks and communicates with supervisors and manager any defects.
- Inspects meat/ products for defects, bruises or blemishes.
- Obtains and distribute products to appropriate pack lines.
- Weighs meats and tag containers for weight and contents.
- Reduces processing costs by reducing the amount of repacks or empty pockets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must have ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
- Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
- Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
- Must have working knowledge of production equipment.
- Must be able to understand and follow all Food Safety Guidelines and Occupational Safety Guidelines .
