WHAT TO EXPECT:
This role sits within Manufacturing Engineering holding responsibility for the coordination and delivery of the logistics and packaging development of all New Model programmes.
The main purpose will be to take the initial New Model planning concepts from the point of 'Project Approval' into the initial stages of 'Mass Production'
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role you will ensure the planning of packaging concepts are appropriate to support the requirements of Mass Production. You wil help oversee the delivery of packaging to support the plant new model and model year changes across all sites and support the delivery of all packaging provision, liaising with the component supply base, internal suppliers and pacakging manufacturers, producing metrics as required to provide clear status of project health throughout the development phases. You will be responsible for monitoring and tracking the Packaging Capital budget for New Models and Model Year changes.
You will support the concept buy-off for new containers and liaise with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Health & Safety and Quality areas, and support new model phase planning and review, identifying modification/ change as required.
The role will see you manage the provision of early prototype packaging to support pre-production build phases and confirm suitabilitiy for future deployment in Mass production, and apply 'lessons learned' from previous new model introductions to ensure that all packaging is fit for purpose.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
We do require someone who has a full UK Driving licence and who is willing to travel between all sites regularly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience of packaging development and application to manufacturing- Background in Engineering
- Background in supply chain for packaging
- Be Computer literate and proficient in all relevant business systems, including knowledge of MS Office
- Have an understanding of all current Business Objectives/Behaviours
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
- An individual with the ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
