An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Artworker to join our client’s expanding product team and take the reins of everything packaging.
Our client’s privately owned and friendly business manufactures, imports and supplies all manner of home lighting products, from fabric shades, floor lamps, table lamps and ceiling fittings to lighting accessories, novelty, and everything in between. Our client has been servicing some of the UK’s biggest and most recognised retailers for more than 20 years now and currently experiencing an unprecedented growth.
Purpose of the role:
Based in their Rutland office, reporting to the Design and Development Manager and working alongside the design and development coordinator, you will take charge of all aspects of our packaging. The role involves directly liaising with both internal teams, account managers, factories, and customers to ensure the timely delivery of correct to guideline packaging and labelling and ultimately therefore, the timely delivery of the product itself. This will include product photography for both packaging artwork and record keeping but also the varied, ad hoc requests received from customers, factories and internal teams alike.
Key responsibilities for the Packaging Artworker:
- Obtaining/maintaining a full understanding of customer packaging guidelines
- Requesting and checking cutter guides from factories
- Creating print ready artwork of all packaging needs
- Managing packaging approval processes with customers
- Issuing packaging artwork to factories
- Approving production packaging with factories
- Supporting the team with ad hoc tasks and requests if/when required
- Photographing lighting products using Canon EOS R in a photography studio.
- Managing the photography process for Dunelm, using a third party
- Administrative duties as part of development process
The Ideal Candidate:
- A positive team player with an astute eye for detail and excellent communication skills
- Good project management and organisational skills essential
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 essential
- Photography experience (preferably studio) is strongly desired but not essential
- Full, clean driving license.

Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum, full-time - Monday to Friday, including a 30 - minute unpaid break. The role is office based.
While the successful candidate will ideally have the above experience/skills, the client will consider candidates that they feel fit their culture, with a desire to learn. Appropriate support will be given to help the right candidate succeed in the role. Although not a predominantly customer facing role, some working out of hours and UK travel may be required when attending shows or customer meetings.
