Are you organized, flexible, and interested in K-12 robotics and 3D printing? The UVU School of Education Creative Learning Studio is looking for someone who will work as both an admin in the Lending Library and as a facilitator of events in the Makerspace and the local community. Experience working with K-12 students and managing others is preferred. Working under the general direction of the School of Education Dean and the coordinator of the Creative Learning Studio (CLS), manages the day-to-day operations of the CLS Makerspace and Learning Library, including logistical support, scheduling, organizing events, inventory management, purchasing, budget tracking, and general office support. Coordinates with UVU departments, school districts, and community organizations. Works with the University Marketing and Communications to promote the CLS in social media, website maintenance, and promotional materials. Facilitates UVU School of Education and community events. Oversees student volunteers and CLS employees.
- Manages the daily operation of the Creative Learning Studio Makerspace and Lending Library, including logistical support, scheduling, organizing and overseeing events, inventory management, and general office support. Tracks and monitors CLS budgets and expenses, including invoicing and purchasing equipment and supplies. Oversees student volunteers and CLS employees and tracks hours.
- Organizes and manages the lending library checkout process and forms. Manages the CLS inventory, including ordering, organization, labeling, repairs, etc.
- Organizes CLS Makerspace workshops and community events. Work with UVU Community & Professional Education when appropriate. Communicates events and services to partner districts and works with participants. Facilitates events as needed. Submits invoices and collects payments for workshops and events. Maintains records for events and tracks customer accounts.
- Assists with developing and implementing marketing strategies for the CLS. Works with University Marketing and Communications to coordinate the advertising and implementation of marketing campaigns for events and promotions offered by the CLS. Updates and maintains the CLS website. Social media presence with marketing. Orders promotional materials for the CLS.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background working in an education environment. Flexibility in work schedule. Current driver's license.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of inventory tracking.
- Knowledge of Google Suite, Docs, and Sheets.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
- Knowledge of event coordination.
- Skill in-office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
- Skill in using computers and computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and databases.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties with minimal supervision.
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with diverse people.
- Creative mindset with the ability to bring fresh and current ideas for marketing.
- Ability to have a variable and flexible schedule to cover events when necessary.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task, prioritize, and follow projects through to successful completion.
