We are inviting applications from qualified social workers who hold a current Social Work England (SWE) registration and are seeking sponsorship to work in the UK.
About the role
We have developed a bespoke programme of support to allow qualified and experienced overseas social workers a route to transition into Children’s social work in the UK. As well as a wide range of career opportunities, we can offer the tools and support required for you to deliver improved outcomes for the children and young people in Devon. You will be provided with a learning agreement for your six-month transition programme, regular supervision and support provided on an individual, group and mentoring basis. Your caseload will reflect your professional capability and development needs. We will also ensure that you will have protected time to participate in learning and development activities, as well as opportunities to develop your practice capability.

About you
You will be an advocate for the children and young people you are working with, ensuring each child has an active, up-to-date plan, and young people are supported as they transition to adulthood. You will need to have:
- a social work qualification and registered with Social Work England
- experience working within children’s social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
- a high-level of written and verbal communication skills*
the ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals
- knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work in the UK
- exceptional written, case recording and planning skills
- a valid driving licence and access to a car *
