Job description
Do you want to be part of the team delivering incredible Warhammer animations? Are you excited by the prospect of creating high-quality 3D assets to bring the worlds of Warhammer to life on screen? If so, Games Workshop wants to hear from you!
We are looking for a talented 3D Generalist to join our team. You will be required to engage with the director, production manager, and wider animations team – including internal Games Workshop stakeholders – to help successfully contribute to the overall Warhammer+ strategy. You will work closely with the Lead Animator to deliver on the animation tasks required for each episode. The ideal individual will be able to consistently meet quality standards on time, while completing daily tasks and working closely with the rest of the team.
The ability to create AAA-level rigged and textured humanoid and non-humanoid characters from the worlds of Warhammer, ready to be used in the Unreal Engine, is essential, in addition to creating static mesh and skeletal mesh props and environmental items.
Knowledge of particle effect creation would also be desirable, alongside experience making both whole and destroyed versions of assets – there tends to be a lot of destruction in Warhammer animations, after all!
You will need to leverage your experience and capabilities across a variety of software suites to plan and execute the tasks assigned to you, as well as participate in internal reviews to provide effective feedback with the rest of the team. Being proactive and diligent, you will have a sense of ownership for successful outcomes and take responsibility for implementing improvements when required.
Working at Games Workshop
At Games Workshop we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the company and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this we believe that what you are like, hence the attitude you show to work and the way you choose to behave is just as important as your skills and experience.
The Warhammer World site is based just outside of Nottingham city centre and benefits from a nearby tram stop and free onsite car parking.
In return for your hard work, you will receive 33 days holiday per year (including public holidays), matching contributory pension scheme up to 7.5%, profit share bonus (subject to GW meeting profit targets) and option to join our Share Save scheme. Oh and let’s not forget, a staff discount of between 25% and 50% on our products!
Other Essential Information
Closing Date: Applications must be received by midnight, UK time, Wednesday 27th September 2023.
