THE Hotel at Camp Tails will be a premium dog hotel, dedicated to providing high-quality care and comfort for dogs of all breeds and sizes. We are seeking reliable and experienced Overnight Dog Hotel Carers to join our team.
Launching in April, we are building a new team to care for the awesome dogs whom attend Camp Tails and want to extend their stay for overnights!
The position will start as flexible / part time but quickly grow into more hours as each candidate needs as the service demand grows. The position will eventually support 2 full time and 2 part time Night Carers.
Full training on dog care and how Camp Tails make dogs happy in our daycare environment.
Role Expectations:
- To provide overnight care in The Hotel at Camp Tails.
- Dogs will have had a fun day at Camp preceding their stay and should be settled and calm but some will require additional attention.
- Each dog will have their own bedroom and every effort to ensure they are happy and settled in their space.
- Feed dinner / breakfast at set times as indicated by stay sheets.
- Administer any medication provided following stay sheets.
- Provide enrichment opportunities to each dog up to bed-time.
- Facilitate toileting regularly using dedicated outside patio to avoid where possible bedroom accidents.
- Observe and report on any behaviors during their stay with us.
- Monitor dogs via live CCTV from Loki’s Lounge common area.
- Being calm and confident when handling dogs using positive reinforcement methods only.
- Understanding emergency protocols and putting into place in the unlikely event of an emergency.
- Cleaning duties as directed throughout night whilst dogs are sleeping and settled.
- Provide detailed and accurate information at shift handover.
Ideal candidates will have worked in some form of environment with dogs before, be it kennels, daycare or rescue centres. Owning a dog would be of benefit for experience but not necessary.

As THE Hotel grows, there may be opportunity for career development as will eventually take on a Night Manager.
There may also be a chance to supplement hours with daycare cover if candidate so wishes.
