Chester Race Company are recruiting for Event Staff - Barrier Deployment for the 2023 race season at Chester as well as Bangor-on-Dee racecourse! Race days are truly something spectacular to be a part of! This role is exciting and varied, you’ll work events at Chester Racecourse, Bangor-on-Dee racecourse, as well as many other events such as weddings, private events, festivals, national televised awards and shows – all at prestigious venues across the region and further afield!

Working as an Event Staff - Barrier Deployment team member you will be responsible for:
Assembling our Hostile Vehicle Mitigation Barriers
Lifting heavy steel objects within a team of 4
Using hand tools to assemble steel barriers
Moving into the role of SIA / Steward once barrier deployment is complete
- At the close of the event, you will then de-rig the barriers
The successful Event Staff - Barrier Deployment team member will have the following:
Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
A friendly, approachable, and professional manner
Strong customer service skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Our rates of pay (All rates are inclusive of holiday pay)
Barrier deployment rate: 18+ £13.45 per hour
Shift availability
Our shifts vary! You are in control of the hours you work via our staff app.
Race Day timings vary however they are typically 07:30-20:00, or 12:30-22:00 on evening meetings. (Longer and shorter shifts also available)
