Job description
We are looking to appoint a Neonatal Patient Safety and Governance Nurse to work as part of the Children’s Services team. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of practical support, expertise and facilitation across a wide range of patient safety and quality improvement activities.
Working with the neonatal team the post holder will ensure the service is appropriately supported in order to deliver their Quality Governance agenda. This will mean provision of support relating to the management and investigation of learning reviews, incident reporting, risk registers, complaints & claims, clinical audit plans and guidelines activity, in accordance with the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
The postholder is expected to promote a culture where clinical governance and patient safety are integrated into the care and wellbeing of all patients, staff and families. Promoting a culture of participation, openness and accountability.
With excellent analytical and judgement skills the post holder will present conflicting and complex information, ensuring written reports are presented professionally and succinctly.
Applicants must demonstrate previous experience around risk and governance processes and have a clear grasp of the collaborative working necessary to be successful in the role. The prospective post holder must have previous experience in undertaking root cause analysis investigations and ideally systems-based investigations to be able to analyse key trends and themes. The candidate should also have an interest in quality improvement methodology and implementation in practice.
