Enjoy the sights & sounds of San Francisco's Bay while playing a critical role in our vessel operations! This is a unique opportunity to join Blue and Gold Fleet - San Francisco's premier provider of daily ferry service and scenic bay cruises.

As a Vessel Fueler you will perform an essential role supplying our vessels with fuel and required provisions; as well as providing maintenance to vessels and surrounding areas. This is a physically demanding job and much of the shift is spent outside hauling fuel lines as well as various assigned duties that may include janitorial, sanitation, cleaning, repairs, and maintenance.

This is a key position that will be assigned to our Vallejo location. We will offer on-the-job training to the right candidate. We need you to be focused, detail oriented, dedicated, and dependable. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily fueling of vessels as needed includes taking fuel truck deliveries, checking fuel levels in tanks, verifying proper fuel levels and maintaining all safety precautions at all times.
• Normal maintenance work, including washing down of vessel, washing of bulkheads and overheads, chipping, and painting, building maintenance, dock and gangway maintenance and inspections.
• Sanitary duties such as mopping, washing, scrubbing, hosing, steam cleaning, disinfecting and interior and exterior cleaning.

Rate: $35.88/ hour

This is an MMP Union position.

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills – spoken, written, listening and comprehension.
• Open availability- must be able to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends and holidays)
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of courtesy and efficiency in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
• Basic mechanical knowledge including piping, gauges and basic electrical systems.

Blue & Gold Fleet has been the premier provider of ferry and water excursion services on San Francisco Bay for over 40 years, offering the famous one-hour San Francisco Bay Cruise, the 90-minute Escape from the Rock Cruise around Alcatraz Island and a Sunset Cruise. The company provides regular ferry service to Sausalito and through its contract with the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) service to: Harbor Bay, Main Street Alameda, Oakland, Richmond, Seaplane Lagoon, South San Francisco, Vallejo, Oracle Park (for San Francisco Giants games and special events) and Chase Center (for Golden State Warriors games and special events). Blue & Gold Fleet operates a fleet of 21 vessels.
