The role
The “Platform Optimisation” lead will be responsible for delivery of all enhancements and innovation into the platforms. In partnership with the Service Leads and business owners you will lead the impact assessments of product releases, shape innovation releases agreeing rolling release schedules, plan manage the testing of changes and product releases, ensuring ITIL processes are adhered to.
As Platform Optimisation Lead you will ensure that the service provider and business update all supporting documentation, test scripts and configuration items within the CMDB prior to live release.
- Work with business and 3rd party stakeholders in a seamless “1 team” philosophy to drive innovative solutions, ensuring ITV obtains maximum benefit from the newly implemented ERP Oracle Cloud Platform and legacy systems
- Responsible for driving continual service improvement by work with key stakeholders review existing processes and introducing new and improved ways of working
- Develop testing strategies and own the testing regime for ITV applications, including Oracle Fusion applications, legacy systems, integrations and all other areas of the landscape
- Manages our 3rd party testing service to ensure regression test packs are kept up to date and optimised
- Support and manage the monthly release testing for the EPM system and quarterly ERP & HCM releases.
- Reviews and approves testing evidence.
- Maintains a backlog of change and update from Oracle Fusion releases and lead quarterly release impact assessments
- Responsible for establishing a robust mechanism to track releases, upgrades and changes to all environments including the patching cadence
- Ensure comprehensive documentation and the change control process is followed for all changes within supported systems, being mindful of environment and version control policies in place
- Member of change advisory board, ensuring adequate risk assessment and scheduling of technical changes and releases
- Develop and communicate a release strategy that is constructed around the Oracle Fusion release cycle and is ordered and prioritised to ensure continuity across the landscape
- Attend and contribute to all governance bodies set up to control and improve the systems
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Well versed in managing a team focussed on process, CSI, Innovation and user focussed delivery of first class support.
- Previous experience of defining standard operating procedures, developing partnerships with business stakeholders and embedding new services into live operation
- Deep understanding of core ITSM processes and documentation
- Hands on experience of implementing or maintaining Oracle ERP / EPM applications
- Understanding of business processes and how applications support the business processes
- Have a clear and deep understanding of application support, development and associated tools and technologies, Oracle SaaS tools and other legacy tools use
Qualifications (Desirable)
- Oracle Cloud certification
- ITIL certification
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Experience in identifying continuous improvements, engaging with stakeholders and driving change
- A proven track record in defining release and change processes to design, transition and implement robust and scalable solutions to enable business outcomes
- Previous experience leading release & test management activities, using software development and test automation tools such as Jira, Xray & Cypress
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Support processes, release cycles and customer networks
- Resilient and adept at resolving issues in collaboration with senior stakeholders with a can do attitude
