Role Overview
As the Oracle DBA you will support and maintain a large Oracle and MS SQL estate. In addition, you will plan, test, and perform database upgrades and create documentation for new processes and procedures. You will also consult with application and development teams on database design and usage, and liaise with internal support teams
What you’ll do:
- Deliver issue resolution, performance tuning and upgrades.
- Patching, data migration and development environment refreshes, backup configuration, recovery testing and the creation and maintenance of documentation
- Consult with application and development teams on database design and usage
- Liaise with internal support teams
- You’ll be required to join an out of hours on-call rota
What you’ll bring:
- Experience using Oracle versions 11G, 12C, 18C, and 19C
- Understanding of RAC Clusters and Data guard
- RMAN backup and recovery
- Experience with Database; patching, upgrades, and migration
- Knowledge performance tuning
- Unix Shell scripting
- Experience with Linux and Solaris operating systems
- Past experience of working in a controlled data centre environment
- Understanding of MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure Cloud and Google Cloud
