The Inpatient Wards at our Community Hospitals are at the heart of what we do. The inpatient Wards offer a 24/7 service to provide a high standard of care and support for our patients who are undergoing rehabilitation and discharge planning . We also care for patients who are entering their last days of life.
The role of the Health Care Assistant is to support the Registered Nurses and Senior Sister in the provision of superior healthcare services which is caring and supportive to the individual, their families, carers and the community.

Supporting the Registered Nurses in caring our patients in delivering personal care and encouraging independence. You will need to be hard working, flexible, kind and caring in order to deliver safe and effective patient centred care to our patients, their families and carers. As part of a team you will need good organisational skills and be able to demonstrate good communication, including record keeping.
Our Community Hospital is in the beautiful Market Town of Stroud in a semi-rural position in the Cotswolds. It has the bonus of good access to the M5 motorway and is also serviced by excellent train links to London, Bristol and the West country.
We are a Nurse led unit with close working ties across all the Multidisciplinary Teams within the Hospital. Our passion for caring for our local population is also reflected in the fantastic feedback we receive from patients, their carers, family and friends.
Is you haven't already achieved it, you will be expected to attain the Care Certificate within a short time of starting. As a team we are supported by a Teaching and Development Facilitator who help s with knowledge and skills base development opportunities.

As a Health Care Assistant/ Support Worker you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care / services to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service. Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not.
You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis and be required to meet the Care Certificate standards. All successful applicants will also have the opportunity to discuss the prospect of undertaking a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship alongside their substantive post. This apprenticeship would include the Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare.
