Job description
Hillhouse Group are looking for a Concrete Batching Plant Operator to join our growing team, to work at our new, purpose built, concrete plant in Glasgow.
Reporting to the General Manager, Concrete Products, the Batching Plant Operative will work to ensure safe, compliant and efficient production by effectively operating the batching plant, transporting materials around the site and carrying out general maintenance. You will be trained to operate the static concrete plants at our Headquarters in Troon and at our concrete plant in Beith. Training will also be given on our mobile concrete plant.
The role:
- Monitoring the performance of the batching plant to ensure supply of mixes consistent within specification.
- Ensuring that the batching plant is maintained including planning of preventative maintenance actions.
- Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Analysis of batching plant performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Carrying out routine maintenance tasks.
- Transporting materials around the site.
- Ensuring all HSQE requirements are complied with.
Person Specification:
- Driving licence (essential).
- Previous experience of working in a concrete batching plant (desirable).
- Previous experience of working in a concrete manufacturing environment (desirable).
- Ability to drive Wheeled Bucket Loader (desirable).
- Ability to operate a Forklift Truck/ Telehandler, valid licence (desirable).
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must have a flexible attitude to work.
- Computer literate.
- A general working knowledge of Health and Safety practices is required.
Job Type: Full-time, 48 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with the ability to work overtime and weekends to suit the needs of the business.
