Job description

Aquatrans Distributors requires an experienced Class 1 Truck Driver for work on the Lower Mainland. As a Class 1 Truck Driver for Aquatrans you will be operating and driving primarily tractor-trailer, long-combination vehicles. You will be moving loaded B-trains and accessing the ports of Vancouver as well as completing reefer work.

Compensation: $30.50 per hour for the first 3 months with a guarantee increase to $32.50 per hour, after first 3 months completed. Benefits – 100% company paid benefits including extended health, dental, vision and life insurance.

Shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3:30pm. Shift times are variable. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs. Must be able to drive a manual truck.

Duties Include:

Pre-trip and post trip inspection
Maintain accurate driver logs
Operate truck and trailer in safety minded way
Operate hydraulic tip lift to unload 20ft and 40ft shipping containers bulk commodities
Report vehicle deficiencies
Manual labor required with unloads
Load, transport and unload B-train Hopper sets
Transport various goods across the Lower Mainland
Move loaded B-trains
Transport containers

Requirements:

Class 1 drivers’ license
Must be able to drive a manual truck
2 years of tractor-trailer experience
Safety conscious and safe operator
B-train experience and container drayage experience are both considered strong assets
Experience accessing the Ports of Vancouver is highly valued
