Airfield Ground Support Operator

Job title: Aircraft Refuelling and Ground Support Operative
Location: Warton
Salary: £36088 + 17% shift premium
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering airfield ground support services including personnel, equipment, and resources in accordance with licensing, regulatory, BAE Systems rules, procedures, bye laws and business requirements.
- Service provision includes storage, handling, and distribution of aviation fuel, FOD sweeping operations and snow clearance, aircraft towing, forklift truck operation and freight handling.
- De-icing of aircraft to business requirements in line with required standards.
- Sweeping operations and snow clearance for airside surfaces.
- Freight handling import / export in line with regulatory standards.
- Escort duties for airside works in accordance with aerodrome operating procedures.
- Provision of support in emergency incidents and low visibility support.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Previous experience working in an airside setting with the handling of fuel.
- In possession of an LGV license as a minimum (Class C).
- A relevant qualification in fuelling/ operations (Jig 4 or equivalent).
Desirable:
- Ability to drive articulated LGV Class (C+E).
- Previous line supervision or team coordination qualifications (e.g. NVQ supervisor).
- Fork lift license.
- Explosive safety certificate.
