About the role
The Operations Managers lead the business unit in successfully operating and optimising Ocado’s platforms to deliver maximum client and customer value. They are key to the bottom line performance of the Zoom site and driving a positive employee experience. The Operations Managers not only lead and motivate, they drive and develop all aspects of business unit activities on site and on the road. Living and breathing our 5 Pillars; Safety, People, Customer, Delivery and Cost the Operations Managers provide motivation and drive excellence in all that we do. It is the responsibility of the Operations Manager to effectively plan resources in line with budgets and business objectives.
About you
You are an experienced manager with a background in distribution, fleet or logistics management. Continuously encouraging self-improvement, training and development of your teams at management level you ensure that you shape and drive a word class employee experience and environment to attract and retain the right people. With your approachability, good communication and leadership skills you will ensure that KPIs, turnover, absence rates are in line with the business. You will foster a culture of respect, identity, loyalty, trust and aspiration which will keep your team engaged and motivated to commit to Ocado and its values. You will constantly look at the process of Continuous Improvement and amend performance metrics to deliver improvements to productivity. You have experience in Building, Fleet and Facilities Management and of Employment Relation Policies and Procedures and People management. Managing budgets and targets you have a strong customer service background, and being a team player with good organizational and planning skills, you will be motivated whilst being proactive. You are used to using Google suite and MS Office and have strong interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with various internal partners as well as external partners.
