We are looking for an Operations Manager to join a team of distinguished hospitality enthusiasts. The hotel reopened in 2021 following a full hotel refurbishment and our goal is to create the greatest golf hotel experience in the world.
THE ROLE
As the Operations Manager, you will support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the hotel. Leading and supporting a team across all departments, you’ll ensure operations run smoothly, but also you will continually look at ways to make any improvements across the hotel whilst delivering exceptional standards.
THE TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- In conjunction with and in the absence of the General Manager, manage the Hotel's day-to-day operations, overseeing all departments to ensure it’s operating to deliver a great guest experience.
- Deliver the hotel strategy on all operational matters and KPIs.
- Support HODs to ensure Team Members perform at their best, including hiring new talent, training team members, and providing motivation and support.
- Working with HODs on work schedules, making necessary adjustments to schedules to optimize staffing or alternatively reduce wage costs where necessary without comprising the guest experience.
- Supporting the Food Beverage Operations Manager in overseeing the FB operation.
- Managing any maintenance issues through the Maintenance manager and ensuring that all defects in guest rooms or common areas are repaired on time.
- Prepare weekly reports and deliver action plans as required on hotel quality.
- Monitor and review guest feedback to ensure that we learn from it and implement strategies to make the necessary changes to keep the hotel moving forward in providing exceptional service.
- To support the General Manager with the execution of projects when required.
- To review and improve procedures/processes to find more effective ways of working.
- Develop training plans, manuals, and SOPs, ensuring the company values and brand standards are embodied within the departments.
- Participate in conducting daily / weekly / monthly inspections of the property to ensure it is kept in optimal condition with follow-ups to actions.
- Manage all Duty Management processes to deliver the highest standards and consistency.
- Ensure the hotel is adhering to HS, Food Safety Licensing at all times.
- Manage and drive health and safety compliance throughout all departments in the hotel.
- Hold daily briefings and weekly Operational Managers with HODs.
- Always look for new streams of revenue.
- This role will include duty management responsibilities and some shift work.
- It is expected that this is not a desk based role but leading from the floor and delivering the highest of standards throughout the hotel.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU
- We are looking for a charismatic, strong, driven individual, genuine all-rounder operationally, who has a background in hotels.
- A great motivator and communicator.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Hotel Operational Manager.
- You drive a high-performance culture, setting clear expectations, empowering your team, and holding them accountable.
- Able to work in a changing environment as no two days will be the same.
- Happy to spend 30% of the time at the desk and 70% on the floor to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
- Ability to think on your feet and work well under pressure.
- Strong people manager, leading from the front.
- This is not a 9 to 5, Monday to Friday role, so working in the evening, at weekends and on public holidays is expected based on the operational requirements of the business.
- Preferred knowledge of the hotel property management systems - Opera (Advanced).
