What you’ll be doing as our Operations Manager:
- Manages the strategic aspects of projects and mitigate any risk.
- Oversees Project Managers and Site Managers working on projects.
- Ensure engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures take place
- Ensuring that the company safety and quality record is upheld
- Develop, implement, and maintain sound business practices.
- Ensure that sufficient resources are available to deliver customer requirements within the required timescales.
- Ensure that all client requests are dealt with by the Project Delivery team in a professional and timely fashion.
- Produce accurate management information e.g. Financial, Contract Programming.
- Ensure projects meet or exceed budgeted financial objectives, including revenue and margin.
- Develop and meet revenue and other financial goals for practice.
- Manages the negotiation of contract pricing when necessary.
- Provides leadership, guidance and assistance in all aspects of the sales cycle.
- Grows long-term relationships with clients
- Effectively communicates relevant practice information to superiors.
- Handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect for the individual.
- Appraisal and development of staff.
- Take responsibility for various special projects from time to time
- Evaluate and redesign project offerings.
- Understand the implications of different technical choices and is able to guide clients to the best solution for their situation.
What we’re looking for in our Operations Manager:
Essential
Extensive experience of Telecommunications Infrastructure Cabling, ICT or Security deployments in a Management role
Extensive experience of Project Planning activities
Ability to produce and deliver client presentations in a clear, concise and confident manner
Ability to absorb and manage new services and applications
Experience and temperament to deal with multiple site design and production activities
Proven ability to motivate and develop project team personnel
Experience of delivering services against formal sub-contracts
Ability to take a lead on presales activities
Qualifications - CTPM, ECS, SMSTS
Preferred but not Essential
Extensive experience of Electronic Security deployments
Extensive experience of Enterprise networking deployments i.e. WAN./LAN/Server/Desktop/WLAN
Experience of Financial and Operational Report Writing and Analysis to Director level
Qualifications – CTPM, Prince 2, BICSi, ITIL Foundation, MSP
Essential Thorough experience at project management level.
Thorough experience working in the IT environment
Excellent knowledge of industry project delivery processes.
Excellent knowledge of project contracts scope and deliverables.
Excellent presentation skills
Understanding of PRINCE2 standards
Understanding of OGC Projects and Programme Process
Ability to organise multi skilled teams in projects.
