The Careers Centre is seeking an Operations Manager for maternity cover of 12 months.

The Careers Centre’s purpose is to educate, inspire and empower our students to proactively design meaningful and satisfying careers that meet their own unique ambitions. We bring expertise, resources, and opportunities to allow students to explore what makes them curious and successfully transition into the next phase of their lives.

We deliver a range of specialist careers education, information, advice and guidance to students and graduates to develop their career management skills and enhance their employability. To deliver a joined-up approach, we endeavour to work closely a range of partners and stakeholders including academic schools, professional service units, employers and student societies.

We are seeking a professional, highly motivated Operations Manager to provide administrative support to the unit and to the Senior Management Team. Alongside administrative duties (organizing meetings, health and safety, purchasing and finance, internship programmes payroll and estates reporting), the role holder will be proactive in reviewing unit processes and practices to identify areas for improvement, leading on change projects where appropriate, and providing support for projects specified by the Senior Management Team.


The post-holder will also be part of a team of five people providing reception services on occasion.


You will be an experienced administrator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to work closely with everyone in the Unit, as well as our internal and external stakeholders, students and graduates. You will be highly organised, an adept problem solver, and can prioritise operational activities, working to tight deadlines. You will have a commitment to working to high standards and to excellent customer service and support.
