We are looking for applicants to work 21 hours or more per week.
Additional hours will be available to cover holiday shifts throughout the year. A flexible approach to shifts worked would be advantageous.
Pay:
£10.42 per hour starting rate, with increases after successful probation period. Annual pay reviews apply.
Person Specification:
We are looking for candidates with experience of working with people either direct or over the phone in a customer service / administrative role.
To perform all the duties of a medical receptionist / administrator you should have a warm outgoing personality, excellent problem solving skills and a confident telephone manner, along with the ability to:

work accurately and efficiently
interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds
maintain absolute confidentiality
Job Description:
To maintain medical records.
To participate in staff and educational meetings.
To train new employees as required.
To register new patients according to Silverdale Practice protocols.
To explain Surgery policy to patients where necessary about topics such as how prescriptions are processed, the way certain clinics work and how the Surgery deals with emergency clinics and home visits and registrations.
To handle and manage the continuous flow of information both verbal and written from Hospitals, Community Staff, Doctors' and Patients.
To organise and maintain forms and office stationery required for front desk activities.
To respect and maintain the privacy and dignity of patients, to assure patient confidentiality at all times.
To schedule appointments both in person and over the phone.
To distribute the required information via post, courier, telephone and email.
To open the surgery in the morning according to your shifts, greet patients and visitors.
Maintain a courteous, polite and helpful manner at all times to both public and staff
To secure the building, turn off lights and appliances according to Surgery protocols and lock all entrances at the close of each working day as your shift requires.
To keep the reception area clean and tidy during the working day and be in and fully operational at the start of the shift.
To assist patients in accurately completing appropriate forms and documents for the required information.
To collect and record fees for any documentation or travel vaccinations.
General Responsibilities
Carry out your work in accordance with all the Practice policies and procedures.
Helping out and covering absent members of staff as required with other administrative functions such as Answering Phones, Scanning, Shredding and Reception to ensure the smooth running of the Practice.
Undertake any reasonable administrative task requested of you by your Line Manager, Practice Manager or Partner.
