The Contract Operations Manager is a fantastic opportunity at a pivotal time of strategic change and growth for Talented Training. As the key senior manager you will play a critical role supporting the Managing Director in the ongoing success of the company as we secure new contracts and look to expand further across Yorkshire and beyond.

Job Title: Contract Operations Manager
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 p.a. (dependent on knowledge and experience)
Location: Leeds (city centre)
Reports to: Managing Director
Functional responsibility for: Employability and Training
Other regular relationships: Members of SMT and Staff, Funders, Stakeholders and Delivery Partners.
Overall purpose of job: To be responsible for managing the overall operational delivery of Talented Training’s funded programmes ensuring contractual requirements are achieved on time and to budget, and that performance targets are met or exceeded.
You will lead and line manage the internal delivery team, alongside managing subcontractors, communicating the strategy and deliverables so that standards are understand and delivered to contractual and quality requirements.
The post holder will project manage deliverables at each key stage of implementation and delivery to ensure that outcomes can be maximised, and associated risk is mitigated effectively.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the implementation and operational management of designated funded skills and employment contracts.
- Agree and monitor targets, related to contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report on a regular basis to the MD and other senior managers on performance against targets.
- Work with the MD and other senior managers, to support the compilation of operational delivery plans reporting regularly on progress against agreed KPIs.
- Project manage deliverables at each key stage of implementation and delivery to ensure that contractual outcomes can be maximised, and associated risk is managed effectively.
- Provide robust financial management of provision including in year reconciliation and subsequent adjustments.
- Support monitoring against contract KPIs and the claims process to ensure activity is delivered within funding guidelines. Ensure full compliance to funder requirements for provision.
- Manage the contract delivery of internal teams and external subcontractors within the agreed timeframes.
- Lead and line manage the delivery team ensuring sufficient resources are planned and allocated effectively to meet anticipated profiles.
- Update MD and other senior managers on a regular basis with delivery progress using appropriate and agreed review systems and processes.
- Ensure provision is of a high calibre and offers a valuable and relevant experience.
- Ensure delivery of the contract against contractual targets, taking prompt remedial action as appropriate. This will include daily and weekly monitoring of engagements, caseloads, performance, and quality.
- Ensure the contract meets the required audit, compliance, and quality standards, assuring accuracy of evidence checks.
- Continuous development of effective compliance and monitoring activity to ensure successful audit outcomes.
- In conjunction with the MD and other senior managers, lead and oversee the claims process and report progress internally and for relevant funders.
- Carry out contract management duties.
- Build, deliver and maintain effective partnership provision that meets the organisations priorities and funding targets.
- To work on the planning and implementation of new projects and contracts to ensure efficient and effective outcomes.
Essential Criteria
- Must have demonstratable experience successfully managing funded programme delivery at a senior level e.g., DfE/ESFA e.g., AEB; ESF.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining productive relationships with funders, stakeholders and employers, ideally in the Yorkshire region.
- ack record of successfully managing individual and team performance in a target driven environment and developing a high-performance culture.
- Up-to-date and accurate knowledge of contract and funding requirements.
- Proven experience in managing, coaching, and supporting staff teams.
- Knowledge of managing and contributing to internal and external contract audit and reviews.
- Robust experience of subcontract/supply chain management – preferred but not essential.
