Protection Against Stalking (PAS) is a national charity supporting victims of stalking across England & Wales. Our unique team of trauma informed accredited Independent Stalking Advocacy Caseworkers (ISAC’s) and volunteers ensure victims of stalking are supported and a coordinated community response is developed locally to keep victims and their children safe. We raise awareness of stalking, deliver bespoke training, make presentations and provide face to face specialist stalking support across Kent.

Overview of Role:
Working alongside the Co-CEO’s who have responsibility for the strategic direction and financial management of the charity, the purpose of this role is to manage the operational running of our specialist advocacy support service to victims of stalking; ensuring contractual targets are achieved; initiating, developing and maintaining effective relationships and formal partnerships with organisations within the community safety, criminal justice, related third sector and VAWG sector.
Main Duties
To review and allocate all incoming referrals in line with policies and risk assessment procedures, ensuring fast and effective response to meet client’s needs, taking into account staff and volunteers caseloads and capacity
To supervise and manage caseworkers in their response to victims of stalking and ensure the case management system is updated in a timely manner
To ensure risk assessments, safety plans, referrals and risk management plans are carried out to a high standard prioritising those at most risk
To advise, support, mentor and encourage volunteers and staff, recognising their value and contribution to PAS. Identifying any training needs for caseworkers and conducting annual performance and development reviews
To ensure caseworkers attend clinical supervision to support their well-being and the safety and well-being of clients, colleagues and volunteers.
To ensure the service recognises the diversity of clients and addresses their needs by working proactively to ensure a non-discriminatory service that is accessible to all and tailored to individual client needs.
To develop and implement an effective process for user feedback.
To ensure the daily operation and smooth running of the PAS office and administrative processes, developing and updating processes and procedures where necessary to improve efficiency.
To ensure compliance with PAS policies, procedures and national guidelines, including but not limited to; health and safety, lone-working, safeguarding and GDPR procedures
To keep up to date with new legislation and processes pertaining to stalking, case management, best practice and disseminate to staff and volunteers, organising regular team meetings with structured agenda’s and swift circulation of minutes.
To attend, represent and promote PAS at a variety of partnership and other meetings as requested by the Co-CEO’s, including cover at MARAC or MASIP when required and delivering training and presentations.
To produce reports as requested Co-CEO’s using PAS databases for funding and monitoring purposes.
To assist when requested by the Co-CEO’s by taking a small caseload.
Person Specification
Knowledge
Essential:
- You must have excellent knowledge of stalking and of domestic abuse, risk assessment, safety planning and related systems; the impact of stalking on victims and their families, and the legal and practical remedies available to these clients.
- Experience of managing staff and/or volunteers and cultivating effective teamwork
- Understanding the need for quality assurance in service provision and of quality assurance processes
- Understanding of the various agencies working to address stalking, domestic abuse and VAWG.
- An understanding of the legislative frameworks, national guidelines and PAS policies and procedures
- An understanding of the impact of stalking on victims and their families
- Protective orders and related court procedures
Desirable:
- Understanding case evaluation outcomes and funders requirements
- Experience in assisting or working in a management team dealing with frontline stalking victims or other vulnerable people.

Qualification, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- IDVA, ISAC or other recognised Stalking or Domestic Abuse related qualification or appropriate and related experience.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong leadership, team-working and networking skills, demonstrate ability to lead teams
- Good organisation and time-management skill, prioritising where required
- Experience in managing projects and delivering outcomes to deadlines and within budget
- Computer literate, preferably with experience of Office 365
- Current driving licence and a car for use as required would be benficial
Desirable:
- Previous experience of managing and supporting volunteers or organising projects or similar would be an advantage
- Experience of supporting a governance process and implementing Board decisions
