Dunedin Dental group is a group of 4 Dental Practice’s, located in the South West of England.
The Practice’s focus on delivering outstanding patient care and experience at every stage of each and every patient’s interaction with the Practice.
This group of practices is growing, with the view to adding more practices to the group over the coming 1-3 years.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Operations Manager to help lead and support the Practice Team’s in delivering excellent care to our patients, along with ensuring the administrative aspects of the Practice run smoothly. The person will also be tasked with helping oversee the development of the group and standardising processes across the sites within it.
We are looking for an experienced, competent, and dynamic person with a minimum of 5 years managerial experience to help further develop successful and profitable Dental practices. The successful candidate will work closely with the Practice Owner, existing Practice Management teams and nominated Business Consultant to deliver specific and measurable improvements in Practice performance, with the patient experience at the centre of everything we do.
Reporting to the Practice Owner, tasks will include (but not be limited to):
- Lead the Dental Practice team, ensuring that the team approaches their roles with diligence, professionalism and with the patient experience at the centre of their thoughts.
- Complete financial and business performance analysis monthly, presenting the information to the Practice owners, along with suggestions for improvement and where successes should be celebrated with the team.
- Assist in the management of compliance within industry standards and laws, namely the CQC’s Key Lines of Enquiry and the GDC’s Standards for the Dental team. An industry specific package is in place to support with this task.
- Assist in the recruitment of new team members as required, always following legal requirements and industry standards.
- Complete performance appraisals at least annually for each team member and where required, in conjunction with Practice Owner.
- Ensure patient and team satisfaction surveys are completed, along with the formulation of any subsequent action plans.
- Be proactive in ensuring that the Practices are clean and presentable, challenging under performance and setting goals for improvements, via written development plans if required.
- Assist in the management of advertising & promotional activities, including social media campaigns.
- Working in productive hybrid with the whole team, focus on the patient experience and via training, coaching, and management of colleagues, ensure that service levels are consistently of an exceptional standard.
Personal Specifications:
- Someone who has a high level of understanding of employment law, team management processes and motivational qualities.
- A person who can train, coach, and develop others to enable them to provide an excellent patient experience within a robust development scheme framework.
- Strong willed, with a fair approach enabling them to maintain the ‘manager- team’ dynamic, whilst maintaining an approachable and inclusive demeanour.
- Trustworthy and ethical in their approaches, someone who does the right things for the right reasons, not just taking the easy option.
- Flexible in their approach to managing teams of people and working hours.
- An ‘ideas person’, someone who can come up with new and innovative ideas, designed to drive the business forwards and empower the team to support this goal.
- Someone who is highly literate in spoken and written English and maths.
- Fully computer literate, including the use of cloud-based technology.
- Understands a profit and loss account and can articulate this to others.
- Be smart, punctual, presentable, and timely in every aspect of your day-to-day activity.
Management experience is required, however this does not have to be from a Dental background – we are looking for someone who has a ‘can do’ attitude, who is not afraid of having challenging conversations with their team, to ensure optimum performance is maintained on a consistent basis.
The successful candidate will be experienced in managing a team of people, having a thorough understanding of financial management and be capable of embracing change.
