Light Project Peterborough is a small business in Peterborough, PE1 1YU. Our goal is to ‘enable and equip the church and community to heal the brokenhearted, set free the oppressed and bring good news to the poor.’ Light Project Peterborough was started by a group of Christians who believe in showing their faith in action. We are in place to serve the city and those in need. The charity has strong links within and across the statutory, community, church and business sectors and has become a “go to” faith-based charity for leading systems change and delivering support and services to the poor, vulnerable and those in need. With visionary leadership and a strong board of trustees LPP will continue to aspire to expand its services and influence within the city to promote a reduction in poverty to those most in need. Operations Manager
Working with and supporting the CEO in managing the operations of Light Project Peterborough. You will be accountable for a number of important areas that will ensure LPP is a charity that provides the highest standards in support. You will play a key role in ensuring the projects we deliver operate in positive, safe and effective working environments and that the activities that LPP undertakes are recorded and communicated effectively. With a team ethos you will focus on the success of others, have a passion and drive for your work and have the skills to understand where others are coming from. As an articulate self-starter with an eye for both the bigger picture and the detail needed in serving vulnerable people you will bring a range of different management skills and experiences to LPP.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and motivate staff within designated areas of responsibility to create a team culture and positive working environment
- HR including training, recruitment, DBS and leave
- Fundraising, marketing and comms
- Finance – contribute to the planning and management of budgets and to the decisions on allocations of resources
- Governance, Health and Safety and Risk Management supporting the CEO to ensure that legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities are fulfilled
- Contract and supplier procurement, management and review
- Write and review policies and procedures
- Information technology, case load / management information systems and evaluation tools
- Provide regular, timely and effective reports on areas of responsibilities
- Represent LPP at conferences, events and presentations as necessary
- Act on behalf of and deputise for the Chief Executive Officer when called to do so
- Contribute to on call out of hours support
- Attend and lead team meetings
Additional responsibilities for all Light Project Peterborough’s staff
- To adhere to all LPP’s policies and procedures.
- To comply with data protection regulations ensuring that personal information remains absolutely confidential.
- To be responsible for own personal learning and development and to support the learning and development of others and the whole organisation.
- To organise your work to ensure that it is accurate and meets quality targets and reasonable deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £36,300.00 per year
