Key Structures specialise in the provision of Premium Marquees to the event industry, corporate and public sector. Established in 2008 and based in Wimbledon, we are an accredited supplier of temporary structures to London and the surrounding areas.
We provide solutions to private events, awards dinners, launch parties, live events, festivals, and sporting events. We also have contracts to supply various government bodies, elaborate event venues and high-profile historical buildings. Due to growth, an exciting new opportunity has become available for an operations manager to join our team.
JOB OVERVIEW
As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all project requirements are fulfilled. In busy periods we are delivering structures for multiple sites across London each day, encompassing various logistical functions. Your responsibilities will include leading dedicated site and warehouse teams, staff training, warehouse management, scheduling, transport logistics, meticulous pre-project preparation, prioritising load lists and managing loading schedules.
ABOUT YOU
To succeed in this role, you will need a very detailed mind, be highly organised, used to multi-tasting, problem solving and thinking on your feet. Due to the seasonal nature of the event industry, you’ll also need a sleeves rolled up can-do attitude and flexible approach to working hours depending on project requirements.
Required personal skills and experience includes:
- Organisational skills and logistical planning experience
- Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies
- Experience in maintaining health and safety standards
- Highly detail orientated and used to managing busy schedules
- Good understanding of commercial vehicles and load limitations
- Able to lead, motivate and inspire a hardworking team
- Have a practical and logistical mindset
- Happy to work on your own and as part of a team
- Punctual and efficient with time management
- Hold a full UK driving license
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively plan and allocate the labour and vehicle resources to best match the project requirements. This requires becoming familiar with our structures and components.
- Work closely with the warehouse supervisor and team to ensure warehouse activities are scheduled including, picking, prepping, loading and unloading.
- Schedule labour, hauliers, agency drivers and inhouse resources using our workforce management software.
- Effectively communicate with the site teams to ensure they have all information required to ensure successful project delivery.
- As the project moves through the life cycle, to work closely with the Projects team to plan and implement operational requirements.
- Plan and manage our fleet transport logistics to multiple sites around London.
- Liase with the office manager on recruitment needs and disciplinary matters.
- Ensure staff uniform, attendance and performance are continually monitored and kept to a high standard.
- Ensure site health and safety documents are completed and returned by Foreman for all projects.
- Ensure staff are adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
