We’re currently looking for an experienced Contract Operations Manager to join our Rapha contract, which is part of our Grand Central location at Trafford Park, Manchester. Reporting to the General Manager you will be primarily responsible for the professional, efficient and effective running of all warehouse operations for the contract. You will work closely with the customer to lead this contract forward, with a focus on optimisation, cost saving and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and increased efficiency.


This is a permanent, full-time role where you’ll be predominately Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. However occasionally we may need some flexibility… this is Logistics after all.

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £45,000 per annum. What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Effectively manage your team of shift managers, supervisors and all operational and administrative employees attached to the contract
  • Create a culture of performance through engagement initiatives, providing appropriate learning opportunities, reward and recognition, encourage staff participation in method improvement, raising quality and effective team-working
  • Identify issues, problems, and opportunities, analyse cause and effect, practically solve problems, and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Liaise with client covering all aspects of warehouse operation, promotions, targets, errors and performance measures


What you need to succeed at GXO:


  • Experience at operations manager level as a minimum, within a complex, fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Demonstrate good commercial and budget understanding and control – exposure to open book contracts desirable
  • Be customer focused, operationally astute and experienced in achieving stretching objectives whilst operating to high standards
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to build credible and strong professional relationships at all levels
