The role is responsible to lead and drive’s Eaton Cwmbran Manufacturing Operations and collaborates closely with key internal & external stakeholders. The role requires the ability to identify and drive the operational strategy requirements at a tactical level within the business, whilst demonstrating continuous improvement in key operational and financial metrics. The position reports to the Plant Manager of Cwmbran, acts as a key part of the site management team and leads the manufacturing operations team of ~80 employees.
Your main responsibilities:
Actively promotes and co-ordinates Environment, Health and Safety processes and procedures within manufacturing & peripheral areas, implementing a behavioural approach to safety and a zero tolerance culture.- Provides leadership, coordination and coaching to site Manufacturing team enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics of the organization (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory - Eaton H5).
- Drive improvements in the Manufacturing / Operations function encompassing proven Lean & Six Sigma Techniques.
- Develops and implements effective systems and processes to measure and improve performance.
- Implement improvement programs to deliver world class (Internal & External) customer service levels.
- Focuses on effective execution of plant Strategic & Business goals at Value Stream level.
- Deployment of Manufacturing Continuous improvement projects, goals & objectives.
- Develop bench strength & succession plan for Manufacturing function, provide leadership and develop 10 direct reports (Front Line Leaders - 4, Mfg. Engineers - 3, SMT Engineer -1 , Maintenance - 2, Total span of control: ~80 employees)
- Interacts closely with peers and the wider Eaton organization in delivering on performance metrics and key strategic projects.
- Champion Tiered Daily Accountability and Improvement project meetings within Manufacturing function.
- Ensure close collaboration with Site Leadership team to achieve the site critical ""needle mover"" strategic projects: EHS Manager, Quality Manager, Supply Chain Manager, CI Leader, Test Engineering Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor.
- Ensures Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework building blocks are followed to create a fast-learning adaptive CI culture in manufacturing: Gemba walks, Manning Strategy, Process Standardization, Visual controls, Leader Standard Work, Daily Accountability, Process Checks, Continuous improvement for everyone)
- Develops and secure production capacity to the required levels, and quickly able to adjust production plan and capacity in line with material availability and customer demand fluctuations, ensure 100% Flex Productivity metric.
- Active engagement and co-ordination of NPI activity requirements in support of Design for Manufacture & Flawless launch principles.
- Any further responsibilities not listed above asked by Plant Manager.
Qualifications
Degree level or equivalent desired.- 5 years’ experience within manufacturing or engineering.
