Job description

You will create, develop and maximise the consultancy experience for our clients through taking the lead and supporting Lead Consultants on client projects, managed services and short term assignments. You will act as a payroll subject matter expert, applying best practice and providing advice and guidance to clients on payroll and payroll configuration within systems.

We work as a team, reporting typically to the Head of Payroll Services, to ensure exceptional client commitment through project life-cycles. We expect our consultants to support their Lead Consultants and Assistant Consultants with client through:

- Project initiation/Scoping
- System design, configuration and testing
- Data migration
- Implementation, UAT and client training support
- Business intelligence
- Long-term client services, advice and guidance
- Project and team support
- Consultancy delivery will be mostly home/office-based with your Phase 3 team, with attendance at client offices in the UK

Responsibilities

  • Support client meetings to explore consultancy requirements and discuss scope for project governance and review – including independent preparation
  • Deliver against project initiation documents and project plans – with assigned work packages
  • Apply knowledge and training to deliver consultancy requirements on time with excellent follow up for a portfolio of clients
  • Working well with conflicting priorities and deadlines and the ability to prioritise workloads whilst not exceeding deadlines
  • Have knowledge and awareness across both HR and Payroll functions but with a clear focus on payroll
  • Offer advice about configuration options and impact – directly to clients and to own team as well as leading on discussions regarding interfaces with other products
  • Use reporting tools to create, edit and schedule analytics suites for clients
  • Assist clients to plan for, prepare and cleanse data prior to migration between systems
  • Manage both internal quality assurance testing and advising on user acceptance testing with responsibility for the testing plans
  • Develop and provide high quality documents
  • Undertake new client onboarding calls and support the Head of Payroll services with the delivery of managed services to clients
  • Operate flexibly and have a desire to learn new systems and processes in a supportive environment
  • Offer a proactive accountability for the highest calibre of professionalism, service and accuracy for team and project work when assigned

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of HRIS configuration – For this role, preferably an experienced iTrent user
  • Confident ownership of project life-cycles and methods, evidentially proven
  • Contextual awareness, particularly of HR and Payroll in more than one sector
  • Understanding of payroll life-cycle and methods
  • Communicative fluency, both verbal and in documentation
  • Excitement about flexibility, independence, initiative and knowledge-sharing in your job
  • Commitment to clients, team and a Phase 3 role
  • Add extra value to your application with experience of more than one of: CoreHR, iTrent, ResourceLink, Salesforce, Fairsail (now Sage People), Sage, SAP, Unit 4, Business Objects, Cognos, SQL reporting (or legacy equivalents)
  • Complex configuration knowledge and awareness of more than one System
