Your main purpose as the Operations Manager in Cambridge is to drive the successful overall performance of the sites in your area.

Job overview:

You will have overall responsibility for ensuring your area achieves:
  • Exceptional operational standards, products quality, and customer service
  • Proactive Sales growth
  • Agreed budgets, sales and profitability
  • Well -trained, motivated and stable teams
  • The planning, marketing and execution of a diverse, individual & dynamic range of in house events. Utilising your team skills and passions as well as local, national and sporting events for inspiration.
  • Compliance in all areas of operational activity.

You will also be responsible for using the systems provided for effective management of your area and timely reporting to Directors and other Stakeholders.
It is essential for this role you have strong local knowledge of Cambridge.

In addition, you will support and promote all Company-wide initiatives.

A snapshot of the role and responsibilities as an Operations manager:

Team Management and Development:
  • Train, motivate and support your team to deliver set expectations in their role, an emphasis on succession planning through support and development of your management & supervisory team.
Events, Sales and Marketing
  • Support and drive Company-wide Sales and Marketing activity.
Wages and Forecasts
  • Support your managers when using tools for managing their teams at site. Such as, recording staff hours, daily wages, breaks, lateness, sickness and holiday. Sign off rotas checking the correct staff levels match forecasted sales.
Budgets and P&Ls
  • Review P&L for every period with the General Manager and address any areas that need investigation or improvement. Regular reporting to MD on annual sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting.
Stock Control and Menu Development
  • Regularly check that sites are managing and reporting their stocks in accordance with the Company Policy. Identify any stock issues, and coach managers on taking appropriate and pro-active action to resolve.
Compliance
  • Communicate expectations and follow up with General Managers that all site staff training records and risk assessments. Monitor and ensure sites operate in compliance with relevant legislation including Fire, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Allergens, Licensing and DDA.
Recruitment
  • Support General Managers on strategies to hire good team members, Follow Company recruitment policies and procedures for advertising and onboarding.

  • Live in or around the Cambridge area, have Good knowledge of market trends and competitor performance.
  • Build good working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly organised
  • Nurturing and supportive leadership
  • Effective manager, driven to achieve targets and gain the highest results whilst inspiring others
  • Attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Impeccable Customer service skills
  • Have extensive experience in hospitality and managing multiple sites
