In partnership with Legal & General PLC and NatWest Pension Trustee Limited, with hugely ambitious (and very achievable) growth plans, we are seeking a Gym Instructor to join our expanding wellbeing team.
You will take responsibility for encouraging all our members to improve their general health and fitness as well as managing our state-of-the-art gym on behalf of our residents and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:
Gym management:
- Ensuring opening and closing procedures are carried out with specific emphasis on checking and documenting the maintenance and safety of all equipment
- Providing fitness assessments, consultations, and introduction sessions to each member and where possible create personal exercise programmes as required, giving advice on healthy lifestyles
- Undertaking the Exercise on Referral training
- Setting up and running courses / classes and to undertake training to meet the demands of users, instruct classes as and when required.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Marketing and promoting memberships and classes to potential members
- Developing and leading marketing and promotions of the health & fitness facilities
- Be involved in all social activities and promotions with other team members and assisting in the organisation and efficient running of events.
Health & Safety:
- Taking responsibility for the cleanliness of the facilities
- Carrying out regular tests on the pool and steam room
- Removing any faulty or broken equipment from use
- Being fully aware of Pool, Gymnasium, Steam Room and communal policy and procedures ensuring that these are adhered to
- Undertaking pool safety and water hygiene checks and record all results per procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Instructor or Coaching qualification(s) to Level 3 standards to lead group classes
- Experience working with a diverse range of customers, ideally the over 55’s
- Working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
- Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to working patterns to respond to the changing needs of the village.
Working Hours:
- This is a part time opportunity where the Gym Instructor will work 15 hours per week; ideally two full days (we can offer flexibility over working pattern).
