ChampionX has an immediate need for an Operations Manager role in Odessa, TX to manage and account for all Wellmark chemical injection pump inventory and facility operations in the Permian Basin. Work with regional sales team and manage local supply chain and facility operations to ensure timely delivery of product to our field service team and customer.

What You Will Do:
  • Ensure physical and workforce resources are adequate to meet the organization's production schedule
  • Manage the activities of operations personnel including workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization
  • Manage and account for all inventory across 3 warehouses and field service locations in Oracle.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory counts for all Permian locations.
  • Generate work orders for material release. Ensure load out inspections are completed prior to dispatch.
  • Review documentation and material was delivered to location. Assist in closing Sales Orders.
  • Work with regional sales team to plan inventory for long lead projects. Coordinate with Houston manufacturing and local supply chain.
  • Assist in implementation of min/max stocking program. Continually monitor for needed adjustments.
  • Coordinate purchase of equipment with Houston team and track delivery schedule.
  • Manage inventory transfer process between facilities.
  • Participate in capital planning process; develop cost/economic justification for capital projects; execute capital projects within time/budget requirements.
  • Identify/address opportunities to reduce costs; control overtime; monitor/improve efficiency and availability.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and determine the appropriate course of action to resolve; participate in the development/revision of operating procedures
  • Participate in ISO audits
  • Participate in plant staffing activities including interviewing and selection
  • Coordinate shift maintenance activities and audits equipment checklists to verify proper monitoring by operations. Schedule line downtime as required for proactive maintenance
  • Work to achieve goal of "zero accidents" by taking a leadership role in safety.
  • Keep plant hazard analysis current; display thorough knowledge of possible hazards, associated safeguards
  • Support/comply with health, safety, environmental procedures, PSM, risk management plan processes
  • Own key operating documents; maintain updates and maintain regulatory documentation
  • Support, coordinate, manage operating permit reporting, monitoring, renewal requirements to assure compliance with federal, state/local rules/regulations
  • Ensure operating procedures are followed/updated as needed
  • Complete development plans of direct reports; provide coaching to improve performance.
Position Details:
  • Candidate must reside in: Odessa/Midland, Texas area
  • Work week and shift: 6:45am to 4:00pm M-F
  • Company vehicle may be assigned to the employee to drive customer routes. Employee must follow all related policies of Norriseal Wellmark and ChampionX
  • The job is performed under some temperature variations and some hazardous conditions
  • Employee occasionally works near machinery fluids and material wastes
  • Employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to risk of electrical shock
  • Noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud
  • Employees often encounter dust, dirt, grease, and paint on metal surfaces
  • Work in both office and manufacturing floor environments
  • The facility is climate controlled but may occasionally reach above-average temperatures
  • Employee is required to wear all Personal Protection Equipment when entering the production facility
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing inventory
  • Hands on management style
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis investigations.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and ERP systems or inventory management
