Provide visible leadership for midwives and midwifery.

To work in partnership with the Operations Director to provide support to the Clinical Director in developing the strategies for the services across the Care Group that are in line with the overarching Trust Strategy and values.

Advocate for safe, high quality, maternity care.

To provide strong transformational leadership and professional midwifery and nursing advice within a climate of change, which enables high quality person-centred services to be delivered to women and families in the Care Group within the resources available.

To support the work of the Chief Nurse.

To provide specialist advice on midwifery issues to the Chief Nurse.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is now seeking a Midwifery Director for the OGN (Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology) care group.

As the Midwifery Director, this role provides visible professional leadership and oversight for the midwifery and nursing staff within the care group and has responsibility for women and family's experience and clinical governance. As part of the senior leadership team the Midwifery Director is also jointly responsible for the strategic development of the care group, overall staff engagement and ensuring that staff behaviours are aligned to the Trust values.
