Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Finance Controller to join a Cambridge based company to build the reporting platforms to support scale up plans. This is a rare chance to have a significant impact – supporting our global growth to ensure compliance with local statutory & fiscal needs and providing insightful management reporting and helping steer the business.
Role will be North Cambridge based (hybrid working).
Key responsibilities:
The GFC will ‘own the numbers’ but specifically:-
  • Overseeing monthly management accounts and KPI’s
  • Working with external support, take the lead in implement new accounting software / enhance current software to support business plans. This will be on a global scale to support operations in UK, US and far east
  • Meeting all regulatory and compliance statutory and tax compliance filings for all global jurisdictions
  • Ensuring appropriate levels of internal control commensurate with the size of the business
  • Managing the transactional processes eg Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable and cash reporting
  • Monthly payroll processes
  • Manage year end audits
  • The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to wider aspects of the business eg real estate, insurance
  • Building a global finance team to support expansion
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant ideally from a manufacturing or distribution type company
  • This is a scale up business and the successful candidate will expected to be fully hands on at critical times
  • Comfortable with multi-currency ledgers and consolidation thereof into single reporting entity
  • Comfortable with Inventory systems
  • Demonstrable experience covering all matters related to accounting, reporting, forecasting,
  • Strong skills in Excel, Google Sheets, Word and PowerPoint for Board reporting
