POSITION SUMMARY
To serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests in room, restaurant, meeting /event and executive lounge maintaining the highest standard of guest services and impeccable manners at all times. To work and have full knowledge of all food and beverage outlet. To prepare cocktails, hot drinks, have knowledge in wines and serve food whenever necessary. To have salesmanship and be able to upsell drinks, food and services (e.g. afternoon tea, chef’s specials , etc.). To be able to answer questions on menu selections. To be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recook orders and product availability, and with guests regarding additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. To be able to set up, stock, and maintain work areas. Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use. Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Experience/ Competencies:
- Experience in restaurants, conferences, cocktail bars or related professional area
- Ability to work early and evening shifts
- Fundamental accounting competencies required for counting and maintaining float, and taking payment
- Basic computer skills using hardware and software (such as PC, Office, MICROS, Internet browser)
Education or Certification
- High school diploma or GED; experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
