The role
As a Multi Skilled Operative Supervisor - Lifting Operations, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will provide essential support for the lifting task across HMNB Clyde

Day to day, you’ll support lifting operations activities throughout HNMB Clyde with supervision of all lifting operations, ensuring that they are carried out in accordance with Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulation (LOLER) 1998 and BS:7121 (all volumes).
The Team specialises in heavy lift capability to include multiple slinging configurations and jetty maintenance lifting tasks on all vessels

• Provide supervision for safe lifting. Follow lifting plans as directed by the Appointed Person’s Safe System of Work.
• Support the mentoring of selected lifting work party members as directed by the Appointed Person
• (AP) and the Lifting Operations Manager.
• Promote safe, compliant and efficient conduct of lifting operations and report all non-conformances, incidents and improvements to Appointed Persons and Lifting Operations Manager in the first instance.
• Checking that all necessary materials, tools and equipment are available, reporting any issues and liaising with Line Management and APs as required.
• Keeping the Line Manager and/or AP appraised of work progress and any problems.

Essential experience of the Multi Skilled Operative Supervisor - Lifting Operations:

• Working knowledge of LOLER, BS7121 & other industry applicable regulations and practices.
• Lift plans, method statements and risk assessments
• Broad knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment
• Spatial awareness of working environment

This role is based on-site at Faslane, Helensburgh.

Qualifications for the Multi Skilled Operative Supervisor - Lifting Operations:

• SVQ/NVQ Level 3 Controlling Lifting Operations – Supervising lifts
• NPORS or equivalent Accredited slinging qualification

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
