Job description
Operations Manager
What we need:
We are looking for a highly motivated and career driven individual to join our growing team at Axboard.
This is a senior role within the company, reporting directly to the Managing Director. The successful candidate will have in excess of 30 people reporting either directly or indirectly to them. This will include, production supervisors, despatch coordinator, stock control manager, and the pre-production manager.
In addition, the Operations Manager will work closely with each head of department to ensure the smooth running of operations of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and implementing the schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
Duties:
• Manage the growth and success of the team
• Continuous review of process and procedures to ensure all activities are conducted in the most efficient and streamlined manner
• Coordinate activities that affect operational decisions and business requirements
• Responsible for the production, procurement, and planning of daily operations
• Communicate with all relevant employees to ensure delivery times are met
• Plan, schedule, and review workload and manpower to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis
• Ensure the production team meets customer deadlines
• Manage changes that can happen at short notice
• Ensure product quality
• Deal with machine manufacturers, ensuring all machines are kept serviced with minimum down time
• Overall responsibility for materials and services required for production
• Organise, plan, and implement inventory activity
• Responsible for health and safety regulations and their implementation
• Provide guidance to employees
• Ability to scope
• Lead and manage continuous improvement projects
Skills:
• Prior manufacturing and managerial experience required
• Proven excellent production and planning skills
• Understanding stock management systems
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively
• Experience in negotiating and working with suppliers
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to engage and motivate others
• Highly driven to achieve results
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required.
