Business Improvement Leader - Submarines

You will be a key member of the P&I central improvement team leading the implementation of step change improvement projects, either within operations or across the Submarines business, that will result in embedded improvement in Quality, Cost or Delivery. This role will give you access to business wide problems and regular exposure to senior stakeholders across all areas.

What you will be doing:
This role involves delivering improvements that result in a lasting step change in Quality, Cost or Delivery performance. You’ll also be responsible for:
- You will use your product knowledge / technical depth / process depth to proactively identify upcoming performance challenges and deliver improvement programmes or projects that demonstrate an improvement in business performance.
- Embed improvements by influencing both departments and functions to change their current methods or approaches where appropriate and ensure that these improvements are embedded through a combination of process & system change alongside people training.
- You will ensure that deployed improvement projects/ processes are delivered with simplicity, pragmatism, and appropriateness. Have an awareness of industry best practice and use this where required to support improvement projects across the business.
- You will work within or across manufacturing or delivery business units with leadership and stakeholders to deliver the changes. Support teams in understanding and identifying where improvements need to be targeted to enable business performance.
- You will govern your improvement projects to ensure robust implementation at pace. Show a willingness to work outside of your scope of responsibility to ensure that improvement projects are successful.

To be successful in this role you will need:
- Successful track record of delivering positive change/improvement projects in a previous role
- Experience of working in either manufacturing and/or engineering department and has product or process knowledge that can be exploited to drive improvement and inform business best practice.
- Strong problem solving and change management skills with demonstrated success in driving and embedding successful change/improvement.
- Basic knowledge of Business Process Improvement Techniques / lean, as training can be given.
- Has strong people and networking skills that can be used to help drive and embed change alongside an ability to coach and influence people. Expected to champion an Improvement Culture within the business.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
