Operations Director

Salary: £80,000 plus £20,000 Bonus paid quarterly

Car Allowance: £400 a month (£5,200 annually)

Hours: 08:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday

Holiday: 25 days increasing to 30 days with service

Location: Horsham, West Sussex.

Brands include Home Telecom, Fleur Telecom, Eclipse Broadband and Weekly Broadband. Our portfolio of products ranges from broadband and energy, water and council tax set up, right the way through to TV and mobile sims – we offer flexible contracts to our 66,000 residential customers. Our recent partnership with TalkTalk has enabled us to grow and acquire customers at pace. Through organic growth in line with current trends, we are acquiring 2,000 net adds per month, and with further acquisitions however small or large residential base customers should add a further 50,000 in the next 12 months – The time to join TAL is now!

What are we looking for?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, hands-on Operations Director to join the business as we continue to grow at pace, both organically and via acquisition. We’re looking for an experienced professional to oversee and develop all operational teams within the business, focusing heavily on our customer’s experience and the tools we use to deliver our services. Development of people is also a required area of focus; we are passionate about investing in our staff and the successful candidate should be a natural leader and mentor, with the ability to drive knowledge and expertise within all teams.


What will you be doing?

Your activities will involve performing the following:


  • Overseeing the day-to-day B2C operations of the service teams
  • Project managing, overseeing, and delivering change initiatives as required.
  • Driving system changes and enhancements to ultimately enable teams to deliver services quickly and more efficiently.
  • A key stakeholder in acquisition projects, ensuring smooth onboarding of customer bases / new brands into operations.
  • Supporting your teams and introducing a programme of continuous improvement.
  • Monitoring workflow with an understanding of capacity and resource.
  • Maximize workforce efficiency as we continue to grow at pace.
  • Enhancing our ordering process, working closely with 3rd party suppliers to drive automation and efficiencies within the department.
  • Taking ownership of customer escalations as priority, with best endeavour to resolve before the SLA
  • Accountable for operational excellence, including continuous improvement, development of a high performing teams and development of processes.
  • Report on performance and strategy during weekly performance meetings and quarterly planning sessions.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring we’re ahead of the game when it comes to product changes and releases
  • Develop and lead key projects; departmental projects and company- wide projects that fall within your Operations scope and expertise.
  • Managing all direct reports in line with People & Culture policies and guidelines
  • Promoting continual self-development and identifying key areas where further development is required
  • Process driven; experience of developing and implementing efficient business processes and systems.
  • A self-learner who keeps up to date with the latest industry practice and products
  • Ensuring that process documentation, work instructions and other ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 policies are adhered to and maintained
  • Work closely with People and Culture resource planning, promoting company culture employee engagement, vision, and mission.
  • Oversee supplier performance service reviews and quarterly supplier assessments
  • Providing reports to stakeholders as required.
