Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 5 Senior Clinical Research Practitioner within this team. The post is based at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust but if successful you will be invited to work with any of the research teams and sites across our network, which will regularly include primary care and social care environments. You must, therefore, be willing and able to travel independently between sites and be flexible in your working shift pattern.

You will need to hold the skills to take a proactive approach to leading clinical research studies including, but not exclusively, gaining consent, recruiting patients and collecting samples alongside clinical duties whilst providing the highest quality patient care. You will be instrumental in implementing study objectives and will provide dedicated support to ensure that studies are delivered to time and target. You will support the delivery of research studies and identify and recruit participants within the relevant organisations and so effective communication and team working skills are essential. You will be involved in ensuring that research undertaken safeguards the wellbeing of patients and is undertaken within Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. This support requires flexibility and ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment.

The post holder will be a key member of the clinical research team providing research support and its associated clinical care for participants and patients enrolling in a variety of research studies and projects.

The post holder will be responsible for leading research studies,ensuring data collected is to its highest standards, facilitating the production of good quality research with a commitment to the patient’s safety and wellbeing.

They will be expected to participate fully in their personal development and review process in order to achieve the knowledge and skills as identified in the competency framework and competencies outlined for this post.
