Job description
To monitor and control Production and Acceptance applications/systems, assess and escalate incidents, follow up of incidents, liaise and coordinate with technical experts and users, participate in project phases linked with production activities. Hybrid working with 50% optional at home. Ideally you will live within 2 hours commute of central London for oncall shift requirements. The role involves shift work on 24 x 365 rota, 12 hour shifts with 3 on shift
Responsibilities
- Monitor, identify and escalate batch failures as and when they occur
- Escalate or resolve tickets
- System housekeeping, shutdown and start in accordance with defined procedures and SLAs
- Monitoring and incident management adhering to strict SLAs
- Complete daily checksheet and reporting
- Liaise with support team and third parties
Essential Skills
The successful candidates must have:
- First line computer operations support experience, preferably in a large corporation
- Understanding of batch scheduling tools (preferably Control-M)
- Unix and Windows first level support experience
- Ideally AS400 experience or Mainframe experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely especially when under pressure
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience of using service management/incident management solutions (ideally ServiceNow)
- Confidence to work independently and within a fast-paced team in a busy environment
- Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules

Salary: £29.00-£35.00 per hour
