About the role
As the Operational Excellence Manager, you will set up and manage our continuous improvement program across Compassion UK. You will use our multi-year strategy to develop an operational excellence model, using insights to identify root causes and collaborate across the ministry to identify the highest priority solutions for our supporters and our teams.
You will own the innovation value chain mapping process and support and keep teams accountable for the progress in this space. You will work with department heads to identify the processes which have the biggest impact on achieving strategic goals. This is not principally a cost cutting role, instead aiming to help create the necessary breathing space for our team members to add maximum value.

- Develop, implement and maintain an operational excellence framework
- Facilitate the innovation value-chain mapping process
About you

- Experience implementing operational excellence in an organisation.
- You should have a track record of being able to identify problems and innovate solutions that most benefit an organisation.

- A track record of being a self-starter; using your own initiative to achieve goals with limited managerial oversight.
- Either a recognised operational excellence (or linked discipline) qualification equivalent to a foundation degree or higher, or work experience (of 4 years or more) in relevant roles.
It would help (but isn't essential) to have:
- Experience in value chain mapping
- A relevant qualification in delivering organisational excellence
- Experience of setting up a brand-new function in an organisation
We need you to be:
- Personally committed to the Christian faith. There’s an occupational requirement for the holder of this role to be a practising Christian, in order to promote Compassion’s ethos and help others to experience, explore and express the faith-based motivation of our work. You can read more about this in our Policy on Posts to be Held by Christians.

- Aligned to Compassion UK’s cultural attributes.
- Experience in change management.
