Aquatic Engineering & Construction, part of Acteon Group, is a global leader in laying and retrieving flexible and semi-rigid products from the seabed in support of the renewables, oil and gas and telecommunications markets. The company has proven ability in shallow and deep water, and extensive experience of off- and onshore installations, transpooling, recovery and decommissioning.
Aquatic Engineering & Construction are currently recruiting for Offshore Technicians to join their Peterhead team on a full time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor; the Offshore Technician will be responsible for the on-site support of all Aquatic operational activities, including personnel and equipment.
We are currently welcoming applications from Electrical and Mechanical Technicians. The Offshore Technician will have the desire and willingness to work flexibly offshore and in return there will be excellent training and development opportunities with Aquatic and the wider Acteon Group.
Duties
- Ensure that work is carried out to the highest standard in accordance with the QHSE requirements of Aquatic, the Acteon Group and our clients
- Attend service calls for the support, maintenance and installation of equipment
- Ensuring correct operation of Aquatic equipment throughout the duration of projects
- Ensuring correct recertification and preservation of Aquatic equipment throughout the duration of projects
- Conducting planned and unplanned inspections of Aquatic Equipment
- Understand the importance of safe systems of work and deliver tool box talks and provide feedback via risk cards to supervisor
- Coordination of teams of local technicians during commissioning, repair or maintenance
- Build positive working relationships with others within site teams
- Commitment to continuous self development undertaking and developing all training and knowledge required
Requirements
- Technical engineering qualification, time served electrician, mechanic or similar
- Hands on technical experience gained from a position within the oil and gas or renewables industry
- Competent in the operation, maintenance and rectification of lay spread equipment
- Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms supported by good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and proactively with a strong sense of self-motivation as well as collaboratively within a team
- Creative and adaptable in the ability to manage new challenges
- Ability to promote best practice and QHSE compliance, raising standards through demonstration of own behaviours
- Ability to mobilise flexibly as required by the demands of the team
- The right to work in the UK
