We combine experienced Project Engineering and fast track Design and R&D capability with huge inventory of rapid call off tooling, to deliver to our clients. Across a vast array of drilling riser systems, well abandonment equipment and structures, Claxton delivers pragmatic, safe reliable solutions to the operating challenges faced by our clients. We have a Global team with a singular mission, to make our clients projects happen.
Claxton are looking to hire a Service Technician, to join our offshore team on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will assemble, test, operate, service and maintain Claxton and third party equipment offshore, in company workshops or third party facilities as required to support Claxton's operations business.
Equipment to service and maintain for offshore operation will include:
- Diesel and electric high pressure and ultra-high pressure water jetting pumps
- Diesel and electric hydraulic power units,
- Various hydraulically driven topside and subsea cutting equipment
- Subsea dredging equipment
- Hydraulic umbilical's
- Air driven spoolers
- Any other Claxton equipment
Duties
- To actively participate in pre and post job briefings and to ensure that appropriate knowledge transfer takes place to allow successful operation and capture lessons learned and opportunities for improvement
- To become familiar with Claxton and third party equipment, to follow appropriate procedures during assembly, testing, operations, servicing and maintenance of this equipment
- To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Claxton policies and guidelines
- To be responsible for own safety and the safety of others within the workplace by working in a safe, organised and efficient manner
- To compile & complete maintenance work packs, update certification records and other documentation
- Carry out project mobilisations and demobilisations onsite as required
- Actively participate in Lean and 5S workshop related activities in an effort to continually improve the working environment, processes and procedures
Required
- Time served in a mechanical, hydraulic role essential
- Qualification in mechanical engineering or similar preferred
- Previous experience in a service workshop environment
- Good knowledge of mechanically operated tools or diesel engines
- Understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic control systems and the control components within these systems
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Candidates with diesel, hydraulic, UHP or HP water pumping experience preferred
- Knowledge of hydraulic circuits
- Plant machinery experience
- Good knowledge of subsea services industry equipment
