Job description
Permanent, Part Time 16.5 hours per week.
We're looking for a Museum Events Assistant to work in our private hire events team across our five museums including M Shed and Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. If you enjoy delivering great customer service and love supporting events then read on.
We're currently focusing on increasing our income for running private events at our museums. To do this we need to provide excellent customer service by helping the client enjoy their event at our museum, ensure the safe running of the event, giving the client any support, they need and ensuring our collection of over 2 million objects remain well looked after. To increase sales we've just expanded our venue hire offer to include our historic houses. You'll be key to ensuring these new ventures succeed.
Our private events team is led by Francesca Wooltorton, four permanent staff on a rota (you will be one of these) and extra help as required. We work closely with our venue partner who manage all aspects of the catering on the night with you helping to prepare the venue, support contractors and other staff, and unlock/lock our venues.
Your work will contribute to supporting the museum service that is 200 years old. We think it's special and hope you do too.
This role is mostly evening work (5pm until late) and some weekend days to meet demands of bookings and may work at Red lodge House Museum, M Shed, Blaise Castle House Museum and Bristol Museum & Art Gallery.
If you think you can help us make a difference then we encourage you to apply.
