Job description
- People orientated business providing a personal and friendly service.
- You'll be a key team member with a voice
- AAT Level 3 qualification minimum
You’re an experienced and qualified Bookkeeper looking for a supportive working environment where you’ll be appreciated – and play a central role keeping the business moving like clockwork. It’s a straightforward and busy operation that connects key medical networks and maintains a highly personal and friendly service. It’s important to know there are office dogs who will be an important part of your day.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director, you’ll be responsible for a small finance team who keep things moving. It’s not a complicated business, but there are lots of transactions that need to be kept in motion. You’ll make sure the accounts are always in order and up to date - and accurately recorded and reported on their Sage system.
With the support of your team, you’ll maintain all reconciliations, ledgers, invoicing, accounts and banking, as well as produce the monthly management accounts, reports and forecasts – and stay on top of tax recording and reporting, including VAT. Because of the volume of work, it’s important to keep on top of credit control and cash, and ensure the business stays in positive territory and stays there.
The core values of being “Positive, Respectful, Professional and Committed” are important in all relationships with colleagues and clients. Your team will also need support and coaching to develop their and expand their skills base. You’ll be a key member of the team and enjoy contributing to its sustained success at team and management meetings.
THE CANDIDATE
AAT Level 3 qualified as a minimum, you’ll prefer working in a smaller organisation where it’s important that everybody is pointing in the same direction – except the dogs, who help maintain everybodies wellbeing.
You have experience of all the main financial and accounting elements of the role, and appreciate order, accuracy and timeliness – but what else would you be if you’ve chosen to be a bookkeeper? You have a contemporary view of technology and appreciate a great spreadsheet!
And you get along with people. You prefer to work in a team who share the load and get things done. You’re inclusive in your outlook and transparent in your communication.
